Are people using the intervention?
PotaVida helps you see the bigger picture, including patterns of usage across the entire population and how they compare to baselines and standards. For example, the graph at right shows that the Smart Solar Purifier has seen above 60% correct usage- comparing very favorably to single-use chlorine sachets and filters, which have usage rates between 5% and 25%.
Data Driven Insight: The cost effectiveness of an intervention depends crucially on uptake; by confirming high usage rates, you can see that the Smart Solar Purifier has higher impact when distributed to the same number of households.
Advanced Application: We can calculate program cost effectiveness for you in terms of dollars per liter or dollars per household served.
What is my impact?
PotaVida also aggregates the household data so that at a glance you can gauge impact at a project level. We can customize analysis for you by the program, region, or even staff level. The chart below shows cumulative water purified, by region, over time.
Data Driven Insight: The region shaded blue is increasing the rate of water disinfection, while the regions shaded orange and green have more linear rates of disinfection. Can the success in the blue shaded region be replicated?
Advanced Application: In some programs field staff will be able to capture demographic information during distribution or household visits. In these cases, PotaVida can customize the analysis to report impact on specific target populations, like children under 5 years old.
